AI applications need a decision layer, not another chatbot.

A chat interface can answer a prompt. An application or agent may also use tools, maintain state, and execute workflows. In either case, the organization still needs an accountable decision about which approved AI resource should handle the work.

A useful distinction

The application owns the work. The decision layer governs the candidate route.

“Chatbot” and “agent” describe different interaction and execution patterns, but neither term guarantees security, memory, autonomy, or good model selection. Those outcomes depend on the architecture and controls of the particular system.

Application or agent

Receives the task, gathers permitted context, calls tools where authorized, manages workflow state, and consumes the selected AI resource.

ToggleLogic

Evaluates the pre-execution routing decision within the implemented candidate, policy, evidence, compatibility, audit, and escalation boundary.

Where ToggleLogic sits

One explicit boundary between demand and approved supply.

The application does not need to become ToggleLogic, and ToggleLogic does not need to become the application. The public Intelligence engine makes that decision boundary inspectable; maintained registry intelligence and deployment services remain separate.

An approved application or agent produces a workload and the routing inputs available for that deployment.

The host executes against an eligible model or provider resource it already controls.

Product boundary: ToggleLogic does not by itself provide credential security, persistent memory, intrusion detection, CRM or financial-system access, or autonomous workflow execution. Those are separate application and deployment concerns.

Why shadow mode matters

A better recommendation should be observed before it is trusted.

ToggleLogic Intelligence can first run in shadow mode. It records the candidate it would recommend and the available rationale while the host keeps its current selected route. Teams can compare those records with existing behavior on representative workloads.

Promotion is a separate decision. The organization names the acceptance criteria, the routes eligible for change, the responsible approver, and the rollback procedure.
