Release Notes

Every publicly released version of ToggleLogic Free, newest first. This page describes the public Free product only. ToggleLogic Intelligence is a separate, privately distributed product; assistant identity, memory, skills, integrations, and business workflows belong to the consuming application, not ToggleLogic Free.

ToggleLogic follows Semantic Versioning and the Keep a Changelog format (MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH).

2.2.0 2026-10-22

Foundation release. ToggleLogic's decision engine now runs independently of the host it is plugged into. Routing behavior is unchanged.

Added
  • Decision API v1: every routing decision returns a documented response with its reason, a fingerprint of the policy that made it, and a dollar cost estimate when pricing is available — or a named “unpriced” reason, never a silent $0.
  • New togglelogic-decide replay: re-runs recorded routing decisions against a policy and shows every difference before you change anything. Read-only.
  • Configurable notification interpreter for owner-override questions (ownerOverride.askInterpreter, default python3 from PATH).
Changed
  • OpenClaw adapter: all OpenClaw-specific code now lives in one adapter, the groundwork for other hosts.
  • Audit: decisions that leave the model unchanged are now recorded as noop instead of success.
Fixed
  • The new-session marker folder follows the same state-path rules as every other ToggleLogic file.
Deprecated
  • The unused bounded executor is no longer shipped in the package.

Coming next: Free 2.3.0 — per-task owner pins. An owner's model choice applies only to the task it was made for, expires when set for all tasks, and is shown on every decision. Then M1 part 2 (2.4.0), audit log part 2 (2.5.0) and 2.6.0.

2.1.6 2026-10-17

Use your cost estimates to bill your own customers, if you choose to. Recommended upgrade from 2.1.5. Off by default; nothing changes until you turn it on.

Added
  • Owners can mark estimated costs as ready to invoice. A new setting, costVisibility.attribution.invoiceEstimates (off by default), marks a cost record ready to invoice when it has a price, its usage is complete and it belongs to a deployment you bill. The record still says the amount is a public-rate estimate, so the basis is always visible.
  • Missing prices and missing usage stay loud. A record with no price, incomplete usage or a non-billable deployment is never marked ready to invoice, and it is never shown as $0.
Fixed
  • The cost export no longer marks a non-billable record as ready to invoice.
Changed
  • No change to export columns, file layout or routing. Every cost record still carries a request ID, or the reason one is not available.

2.1.5 2026-10-13

If the audit log stops being written, you will know, and the gap is recorded. No configuration change. Superseded by 2.1.6.

Fixed
  • Audit-write failures are no longer silent after the first one. Previously ToggleLogic warned once and then dropped later failures without a trace. Now every failed write is counted and reported as an error in the host log: on the first failure, then at most once a minute, and at the start of each session while writes keep failing.
  • Audit health is visible. While writes are failing, the audit health check reports not ready, with the reason. A separate events file records each failure period with counts and times, never file paths or conversation content.
  • Every gap is recorded in the audit log itself. When writing works again, ToggleLogic adds a recovery record stating how many records were lost and when the failures started and stopped. Routing and replies keep working throughout.

  • Every shipped source file now carries the published license header, and a test fails the build if one is missing.
  • Tested on the platforms you run. Automated tests now run on Node 24 and 26 on Linux, macOS and Windows, and against real OpenClaw 2026.9.9 and 2026.10.2 hosts.

2.1.4 2026-10-12

Your session model choice is kept, even when it is the default. Superseded by 2.1.5.

Fixed
  • A model you pin for a session now stays pinned, even if it is the agent's default model. ToggleLogic reads the session's model choice through OpenClaw's own read-only session lookup, so it can tell a model you picked from one the host picked. Previously, on OpenClaw releases that keep sessions in a database, a pin to the default model could be routed away from.
  • A model the host switched to on its own is no longer treated as your choice. When OpenClaw changes a session's model automatically, for example after a fallback, routing still applies. A model you name for a single request is honored as before.

  • The older session file is now a fallback. ToggleLogic reads it only on OpenClaw releases without the session lookup. The audit warning about an unreadable session store now appears only when neither source can be read.

  • An audit record when the session pin file cannot be read. A session_pin_store_absent event, recorded once per gateway run, makes the unread file visible instead of silent. It records the file path and the error only, never conversation content.

Routing no longer fails silently when the host blocks it. Recommended upgrade from 2.1.1.

Fixed
  • A missing conversation-access permission is now reported. OpenClaw only lets ToggleLogic Free route when plugins.entries.togglelogic.hooks.allowConversationAccess is true. Without it, routing never ran and every turn went to the host default model, with no sign from ToggleLogic. Now ToggleLogic logs an error at startup that names the setting, records a routing.skipped audit event at startup and at each new session, and reports routing as not ready in its registration audit. Set the flag to true and restart the gateway to turn routing on.

  • The README documents the setting. Routing behavior is unchanged when access is granted. On OpenClaw 2026.9.9, openclaw doctor does not run health checks for external plugins, so use the startup log and audit records to confirm routing is ready.

Added
  • A dollar cost on every routed call. Each call record carries its estimated cost in dollars, the model family, where the price came from, and whether the call is billable, linked to the routing decision that made it. Estimates use public provider prices.
  • Monthly spend export. togglelogic-cost export writes a month of calls to CSV or JSON for review or invoicing.
  • Monthly budget alerts. Set a monthly dollar limit and ToggleLogic records an alert as spend crosses 50%, 80% and 100% of it. Thresholds are adjustable.
  • Prepaid balance estimates. Record provider top-ups and ToggleLogic estimates what is left, flags calls it could not price, and warns once when a balance runs low.
  • Ordered fallback by model family. routing.fallbackLineages lists model families in order of preference. ToggleLogic uses the newest model you have configured in each family and skips providers that are out of credit. Off unless you configure it.
Changed
  • Out-of-credit providers are routed around. When a provider refuses calls for billing reasons, such as depleted credits, ToggleLogic records it, pauses that provider and routes later turns elsewhere. Owner overrides still take precedence.
  • Missing costs stay visible. Summaries separate priced, unpriced and usage-missing calls, so a call without a price never shows as $0.00. Daily summaries now use UTC days.

  • Current code release: ToggleLogic Free 2.1.0; 2.1.1 changes documentation only.

Install notes
  • Regenerate pinned snapshots before restarting. If your host pins the ToggleLogic Free version in a plugin or skill inventory snapshot, regenerate it for 2.1.0 before the gateway restart. Otherwise the host may refuse the version change and need a second restart.
  • Keep rollback copies outside the extensions folder. The host scans every folder there, and a backup copy of the plugin triggers a “duplicate plugin id: togglelogic” warning.

  • This is the public Free product only. It contains no private classifier, maintained model registry, customer evidence, provider credentials, or private companion-product source.
  • No credentials or billing account details are recorded. Cost records and events carry dollars, models and reasons only.

Accurate version reporting. Recommended upgrade from 2.0.3.

  • Routing and audit records now report the correct version. ToggleLogic Free 2.0.3 identified itself as 2.0.2 in its records. Routing behavior is unchanged from 2.0.3.
  • Release consistency is now enforced. A release check requires the version reported at runtime to match the published package, so records always identify the release that produced them.

  • Superseded by 2.1.0. Upgrade to 2.1.0 for spend tracking.

Your model choice is respected.

Fixed
  • Explicit model choices are no longer replaced. When a request names a specific model, ToggleLogic Free now passes that choice through instead of substituting its routing default.
  • /model selections work on current OpenClaw releases. Newer OpenClaw hosts keep session state in a database rather than the legacy session file, which hid a user's /model choice from routing. ToggleLogic Free now recognizes the selected model directly.
  • Everything else routes as before. Owner overrides keep top precedence, and requests on the default model follow your configured routing.
Compatibility
  • Superseded by 2.0.4, which corrects this release's reported version. Install 2.0.4.

2.0.2 2026-09-20

Reliable first-turn routing while OpenClaw starts a new session.

Fixed
  • New sessions no longer miss governed routing. ToggleLogic Free accommodates OpenClaw's asynchronous session-start notification with a tightly bounded first-observation settle window.
  • Existing conversations remain fast. The settle window applies only to the first observation of a session.
  • Late lifecycle markers cannot leak forward. Markers arriving after the bounded window are discarded instead of affecting a later request.
